A crow found a piece of cheese and flew up into a tree to eat it. A fox passing below saw the cheese and wanted it for himself.
"Good morning, Mrs Crow," he called up. "How beautiful you look today! Your feathers are so glossy, and your eyes are so bright. I'm sure your voice must be just as lovely. Won't you sing a song for me?"
The crow was delighted. Nobody had ever praised her like that before. She lifted her head, opened her beak and let out a loud "Caw!"
Down fell the cheese, straight into the fox's mouth.
"Thank you," said the fox, licking his lips. "Your voice is fine, but your judgement isn't. Next time, be careful who you trust."
Be careful of people who say nice things just to get what they want.
