助听器
An old man had been almost deaf for years, so he finally went to see a specialist. The doctor fitted him with a new hearing aid – a tiny, almost invisible one – and the man could suddenly hear perfectly.
A month later, he came back for a check-up.
"Your hearing is excellent," said the doctor. "Your family must be really pleased that you can hear again."
"Oh, I haven't told them," said the old man with a smile. "I just sit quietly in the living room and listen to their conversations."
He leaned forward. "I've changed my will three times."
有个老人耳朵几乎聋了好多年，终于去看了专科医生。医生给他配了一个新的助听器——很小很小，几乎看不出来——老人突然什么都听得清清楚楚了。
一个月后，他回来复查。
“您的听力好极了，”医生说，“您的家人知道您又能听见了，一定特别高兴吧。”
“噢，我还没告诉他们呢，”老人笑眯眯地说，“我就安安静静地坐在客厅里，听他们聊天。”
他把身子往前凑了凑：“我已经把遗嘱改了三次了。”
