狼来了
There was once a shepherd boy who looked after a flock of sheep on a hill above his village. The days were long and quiet, and the boy was bored.
One afternoon, he had an idea. He ran towards the village, shouting, "Wolf! Wolf! A wolf is chasing the sheep!"
The villagers dropped what they were doing and raced up the hill to help. But when they got there, there was no wolf – just the boy, laughing at them. The villagers were annoyed, and they went back down to their work.
A few days later, the boy played the same trick again. "Wolf! Wolf!" he cried. Once more, the villagers came running, and once more, they found no wolf. This time they were angry. "Don't cry wolf unless there really is one," they told him.
Then, one evening, a real wolf crept out of the forest and began to attack the sheep. The terrified boy ran towards the village, shouting at the top of his voice, "Wolf! Wolf! Please help! There really is a wolf!"
But the villagers just shook their heads. "He's up to his old tricks again," they said, and nobody moved.
That night, the wolf scattered the whole flock.
Nobody believes a liar, even when he is telling the truth.
从前，有个放羊的男孩，每天在村子上面的山坡上放羊。日子又长又安静，男孩觉得无聊极了。
一天下午，他想到了一个主意。他朝村子跑去，一边跑一边大喊：“狼来了！狼来了！狼在追羊！”
村民们放下手里的活，飞快地跑上山来帮忙。可是到了山上，哪有什么狼，只有男孩在那儿笑他们。村民们很不高兴，又回到山下干活去了。
过了几天，男孩又玩了一次同样的把戏。“狼来了！狼来了！”他喊道。村民们又一次跑了上来，又一次没看见狼。这回他们生气了。“没有狼的时候，可别乱喊狼来了。”他们对他说。
后来有一天傍晚，一只真的狼从森林里悄悄钻了出来，开始袭击羊群。男孩吓坏了，朝村子跑去，扯着嗓子大喊：“狼来了！狼来了！快来帮帮我！这回真的有狼！”
可村民们只是摇摇头。“他又在耍老把戏了。”他们说。谁也没有动。
那天夜里，狼把整群羊都冲散了。
说谎的人，就算说了真话，也没有人会相信。
