龟兔赛跑
A hare was always boasting about how fast he could run. "Nobody can beat me," he told the other animals. "I'm the fastest creature in the whole forest."
The tortoise, who was tired of hearing this, said quietly, "I'll race you."
The hare burst out laughing. "You? You're the slowest animal I've ever met!"
"Then you've got nothing to worry about," said the tortoise.
The animals marked out a course, and the race began. The hare shot off and was soon far ahead. When he looked back, the tortoise was just a dot in the distance. "This is too easy," he thought. "I've got time for a quick nap." So he lay down in the shade of a tree and closed his eyes.
Meanwhile, the tortoise kept going. He didn't hurry, and he didn't stop. Step by step, he plodded past the sleeping hare and on towards the finish line.
When the hare finally woke up, the sun was low in the sky. He jumped to his feet and ran as fast as he could, but it was too late. The tortoise was already crossing the finish line, and all the animals were cheering.
Slow and steady wins the race.
有一只兔子，总爱吹嘘自己跑得有多快。“谁也跑不过我，”它对其他动物说，“我是整片森林里跑得最快的。”
乌龟早就听烦了，便平静地说：“那我跟你比一比。”
兔子哈哈大笑：“你？你可是我见过跑得最慢的动物！”
“那你就没什么好担心的了。”乌龟说。
动物们划好了赛道，比赛开始了。兔子一下子冲了出去，很快就把乌龟远远甩在了后面。它回头一看，乌龟只剩远处的一个小黑点。“这也太容易了，”它想，“我还有时间打个盹。”于是它在一棵树的树荫下躺了下来，闭上了眼睛。
这时候，乌龟一直在往前爬。它不着急，也不停下。一步一步，它慢慢爬过了睡着的兔子，朝终点爬去。
等兔子终于醒来，太阳已经快下山了。它一骨碌爬起来，拼命往前跑，可是已经太晚了。乌龟正好爬过终点线，动物们都在为它欢呼。
稳扎稳打，才能赢得比赛。
