Delete Your Account

This page explains how to delete your BitVocab account (operated by an individual developer) and the data associated with it. Your BitVocab account is shared across the BitVocab website, the Android app, the Chrome extension (BitVocab Highlighter), and the desktop app, so deleting it removes your account everywhere.

Delete your account

The button opens your account page. You will be asked to sign in first (signing in confirms it is your account); no app installation is required.

How to delete your account

Go to bitvocab.com and sign in with your username & password or with Google / Apple.
Open the user menu and go to Account Security (账号安全).
Scroll to the Delete Account section, click the button, and confirm.

What is deleted

When you request deletion, the following account data is permanently removed: your username, password, linked email address, Google / Apple sign-in association, mastered-words list, word lists, learning progress and records, and app preferences.

Grace period and retention

When you delete your account, it is deactivated immediately and all associated data is permanently deleted after a 30-day grace period.

During the 30-day grace period you can sign back in and choose Restore account to cancel the deletion; all your data is kept intact until then.
After 30 days, deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.
We do not retain your personal data beyond the 30-day grace period, except where retention is required by law.

If you cannot sign in

If you have forgotten your password, you can reset it via bitvocab.com. If you still cannot access your account, email support@bitvocab.com from your registered email address and we will process the deletion request for you.
