A man walked into a pub and noticed something strange in the corner. Four people were sitting round a table playing poker – and one of them was a dog. The dog was holding his cards in his paws. He studied them carefully, pushed a few chips into the middle of the table and said, in a deep voice, "I'll raise you five." The man couldn't believe it. He went over to the table and watched for a while. The dog won a hand, lost a hand, then won another one. "That's incredible," the man said to the player sitting next to the dog. "I've never seen anything like it. That must be the smartest dog in the world!" The player shook his head. "Nah, he's not that smart," he said. "Every time he gets a good hand, he wags his tail."
